Vernon Dinnall, age 72, of Swampscott, died Thursday Nov. 10th at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Brenda Martin with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Boston he was the son of the late Vernon and Doris (Dyke) Dinnall. He attended schools in Boston and Jamaica and graduated from Portsmouth, NH High School. Vernon went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Vernon was accomplished guitar player and played in several bands over years, performing in many local establishments. He loved to travel and enjoyed going to England and Jamaica. Vernon also loved his two dogs Ziggy and Henri and enjoyed walking them on the beach every day.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Nathan Dinnall of Lynn, 2 daughters Olivia L. Dinnall of Swampscott , Adrienne Dinnall of Portland Oregon, two sisters Pat Dinnall and her husband Dan Roseman of Lexington, Norma Dinnall and her husband Jamie Hoyte of Lexington, his sisters Linda Hay of Mandeville, Jamaica and Sonia Dinnall of Curacao and his father and mother-in-law Harold and Joan Samuelson of Lynn and their children Sharron and John McLaughlin, Jolene and Gary Lang, Melanie and Mike Fleming, Marina Samuelson, Janelle and Dan McSweeny, and Mugsie and Sharon Samuelson. He was also the brother of the late John Dinnall.
Vernon’s visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM, followed by celebration of life that will be held at Anthony’s of Malden.
