Sandra Kay (Stoneking) Prentiss

Sandra K. Prentiss, age 75, of Lynn died Wednesday July 19th at her home, with her family by her side, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Peter Prentiss with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Milan, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Nina L. (Horton) Stoneking. She graduated High School in Indiana, and received her nursing degree from North Shore Community College, and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Bellevue College. She served in the United States Army as a nurse during the Vietnam War. Sandra was employed as a Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing for several north shore nursing homes until she retired 5 years ago. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Law and Order: Criminal Intent and Criminal Minds on TV. She was an animal activist and loved her cats Max, Chloe, Chi Chi, and Willow. She also adored and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters Dee-ann Prentiss of Lynn, Kandi and her husband Thomas Prentiss of Lynn, Meghann Prentiss of Lynn, three grandchildren Victoria, Kayla and Peter J. Prentiss all of Lynn.

Service Details: Private Funeral services were held at the Parker Funeral Home, followed by cremation at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Burial of Ashes with Military Honors will be held at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the MSCPA, Salem, MA
