Peter A. Prentiss

Peter A. Prentiss, age 76, of Lynn died Wednesday May 19th at his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Sandra K. (Stoneking) Prentiss, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Arthur Tilden and Patricia Dora (White) Prentiss II. Peter attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1962. He served in the US Army, during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Korea and Ft. Belvoir. He was also an MP with the Presidential Helicopter US Army One under President Lyndon Johnson.  After serving in the Army, he began his career as a maintenance mechanic with Embree & White Elevator Company.  He also worked at Norelco and the Lynn Wastewater plant.  He retired January 2013 as an employee of Clean Harbors. Peter was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, enjoyed doing yardwork, gardening, and playing computer games. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and supported them at all of their various sporting events.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Dee-ann Prentiss of Tyngsboro, Kandi and her husband Thomas Prentiss of Lynn, Meghann Prentiss of Lynn, three grandchildren Victoria, Kayla and Peter J. Prentiss all of Lynn, his faithful feline companion Pandora and many nieces.

Service Details: Private Funeral services were held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn, followed by cremation at Harmony Grove Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the American Heart Association 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
