Patricia May Tobin, age 87 of Beverly, passed away Saturday at Ledgewood Nursing and Rehab Facility after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Tobin, Sr., with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Cahoon) May. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1952, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State Teacher’s College.
She was employed by the Lynn School System and taught at the Callahan School before moving to Beverly to raise her family. Loved by many and touched every soul that she had met. She enjoyed socializing, her devotion to God and others, bible studies, music, entertaining people with her quick wit and antics, and her love of Chinese food. Everyone who met her, knew her as ‘Ma’. She was especially known for her love of other in need and would ‘adopt’ them as her own.
She is survived by three sons Robert J. Tobin, Jr., Dale F. and Jeannelle Tobin, both of Lynn, Raymond M. and his wife Elizabeth Tobin of Danvers, one daughter Kelly A. King of Marblehead, along with grandchildren Jessica Abu-Hijleh, Sherene and her wife Jennifer Abu-Hijleh, Nisrene and her husband Anthony Bizzotto, Jamal Abu-Hijleh, Raymond M. and his wife Meagan Tobin, Jr., Thomas and his wife Esther Tobin, Dominic Tobin, Hannah and Erin Tobin, and great grandchildren Edward Cordeiro III, Natalie De Brun, Greyson Abu-Hijleh, Theodore Tobin, Tanner Abu-Hijleh, and many nieces and nephews.
Service Details: Visiting Hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Friday from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 P. M. to which relatives are invited to attend.
