Nancy R. Parra, age 67, of Saugus, died Monday January 20th, at Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation Center in Saugus after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Daniel E. Parra.
Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Norman B. and Frances A. (Faneuf) Hurd. She attended schools in Saugus. Nancy was as an assembler at Sloan Manufacturing in Lynn, and was also employed as a lunch aide at Tracy School until she retired. She was President of the Resident Council at Chestnut Woods. She enjoyed playing bingo solitaire, doing crossword puzzles and art and crafts. She enjoyed the holidays, and loved to socialize, and especially loved her grandchildren. Nancy’s family would like to thank the staff at Chestnut Woods for the compassion and care for Nancy over the past four years as she considered you part of her family.
She is survived by one son Daniel E. and his wife Amy Parra of Kennebunk, ME two daughters Debra J. Parra of Saugus, Maria A. Parra of Lynn, one brother Larry and his wife Holly Hurd of Saugus, one sister Deborah Hurd of Wasilla, AK, two grandchildren Kathy Coukos and Tyianna Parra. She also was sister of the late Thomas and Richard Hurd, grandmother of the late Derek Parra, and Aunt of the late Matthew Scott.
Service Details: A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church Lynn on Wednesday at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
