Marc A McDonald, 70 of Salem, formerly of Peabody died Tues Feb 23 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late James H McDonald and Evelyn Christ McDonald.
Marc attended Peabody schools and was a 1968 graduate of Peabody High.
Marc excelled in sports, especially basketball and played for Peabody High as well as St Vasilios basketball team. He received numerous trophies, accolades and records, among those were Captain of the PHS basketball team, 2 year All Star, member of the 1000 point club and highest scorer in Essex County. Marc was also inducted to the Peabody High Hall of Fame.
He worked various jobs over the years including as a police officer for the Beverly Police Department, S Essex power plant, and bartending at Brodies, and coaching basketball at JFK JR High School in Peabody.
Marc loved to cook, loved the beach and listening to music especially Frank Sinatra and Motown.
Marc is survived by his daughter Jennifer Wilkins and her husband Randy and his grandson Alex Wilkins all of Warren, PA, his brother James T. McDonald and his wife Janis of Peabody, his sister Patricia Crowley and her husband Joseph of Peabody, a nephew Jason McDonald of Marblehead, 2 nieces Tara Segee of Marblehead and Tina McDonald of Maine and several great nieces and nephews.
