Lorraine Newhall (Granger) Lang

Lorraine Newhall Lang, age 95, of Lynn died Monday Jan. 2, 2023, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Fred W. Lang with whom she shared over 70 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Roy F. and Lillian G. (Newhall) Granger, and sister of the late, Marilyn Granger. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1945. She also graduated from Burdett Business School in Lynn. Lorraine assisted service people during the war and she was a Den mother for Cub Scouts. She loved genealogy, traveling, gambling, painting, crossword puzzles, gardening, and was a cow enthusiast. Lorraine had a great sense of humor, and most enjoyed spending holidays with her family and reminiscing about her fond memories.  She was a member of the former Lakeside United Methodist Church and a supporter of Grace United Methodist Church.  Lorraine was an inspiration of courage and resilience throughout her life to her children and grandchildren.

Lorraine, a loving mother, was pre-deceased by her four sons, Bobby, Ricky, Dana and Mark Lang and her grandson Brian Antonellis. She is survived by three daughters Cynthia Hawkins of Lynn, Linda and her husband Bruce Diver of Boxford, Alison Bruyette of Haverhill; and two daughter-in-law’s, Michelle and Diane; eight grandchildren, Chris, Dustin, Jill, Amanda, Ashley, Nicolle, Jason, Courtney and Kristina; eight great-grandchildren, and a lifelong friend Mary Meagher of Lynn, and many nieces and nephews.

Service Details; Visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Thursday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral services are Friday at the Parker Funeral Home at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
