Lauretta Cormier, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 29th July at the Abbott House Nursing home. She was the wife of Adrien J. Cormier with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Aldertic and Georgine (Leblanc) Leblanc. She graduated from St. Jean’s High School and was employed by the G.E. in Lynn. After marrying the love of her life they had four children and became a stay-at-home mom. Lauretta was a member of the former St. Jean’s Church and Sacred Heart Church and was a member of the St. Francis 3rd. order.
She enjoyed socializing with family and friends and had the gift of bringing out the best in people with her smile. Playing cards with her husband was a pastime she enjoyed and most of the time Lauretta won. She enjoyed travel, singing and listening to music and attending church.
She grew up in a large family with six brothers, Omer, Herve (Muscles), Leo (Blackie), Clarence (Joe), Eric (Archie) Jerry and one sister, Florence; she was the last sibling to pass.
Lauretta is survived by two sons, Robert and his wife Dorothea of Salem , Richard . of Lynn , one daughter , Patricia McGaughey of Lynn and one granddaughter Katrina Townsend and her husband Francis of Belton Texas, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Cathleen Blanchard
Service Details: Due to the current guidelines in force by the City of Lynn and the CDC, visiting hours will be private followed by graveside service in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations in Lauretta’s name may be made to Alliance Health & Human Services
