Jonathan "Jay" Doucette Obituary

Jonathan “Jay” Doucette, age 63, of Lynn died Monday April 13th at the Medford Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Susan P. (Simons) Doucette with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.

Born in Bickford, Germany he was the son of the late Bernard and Theresa (Bourgeois) Doucette. He moved to Lynn at the age of 4, attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute, Class of 1976. Jay was employed as a security guard at Lynn Hospital, and Sears until he retired. He enjoyed collecting Matchbox Cars and Legos, and was a huge Red Sox and Bruins Fan. He also enjoyed traveling to Maine, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sister-in-law Diane and her husband Stan Dorio of Bowdoin, ME, a brother-in-law Gary and his wife Eileen Simons of Nahant, two nieces Amy and Jessica, two nephews Dakota and Casey, his best friend Paul and his wife Debbie Martel, his loving friend and caregiver Yenny Rodriguez and her family, and a large extended family of relatives and friends.

Service Details: Private Graveside services were held at Pine Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of Jay’s Life has been postponed until further notice. Please make memorial donations in Jay’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
