Janet F (Kirkey) Devost

Janet F. Devost, age 89, of Lynn, MA, died on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Salem Hospital peacefully with her daughters by her side. She was the wife of the late Robert “Bob” Devost to whom she shared 52 years of marriage.

Janet was born in Swampscott, MA, she was the daughter of Lawrence E. Kirkey Sr. and Marion V. (Bailey) Kirkey. She graduated from Lynn English High School in 1948 and from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1954. Janet worked for New England Telephone for many years before retiring in 1991. Family was very important to Janet and she loved spending time with them. Her birthday was on Independence Day and she enjoyed the festivities of the day.

Janet is survived by her sister Carole Hill of N Walpole, NH and two daughters Marcia Dudley and her husband Ray Dudley and Nancy Vestal. Seven grandchildren, Danny Ross, Rob, Ross and his wife Dawn, Nikki Mckeever and her husband Mike, Sarah Duffy and her husband Steve, Bekah Vestal, and Dakota Dudley all from Lynn, MA. Ben Vestal, and his wife Kayla from E Kingston, NH. Eight great grandchildren, Kayleigh Dudley, Emily Mckeever, Leo Ross, Abby Vestal, Landon Ross, Lily Newman, Nathan Duffy and Ryan Duffy. She also had many nieces and nephews that were loved dearly.

Service Information: Visiting hours will be held at Parker Funeral located at 35 Franklin Street Lynn, MA, on Wednesday, April 7th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Celebration of life to be held at Austin Square Baptist Church located at 10 Keslar Avenue, Lynn, MA, on Thursday, April 8th at 10:00am. Burial to follow the service, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, MA. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Janet's name to Austin Square Baptist Church.
