J. Emery Leger, age 70 years, of Beverly, formerly of Lynn, died at Care One at Essex Park in Beverly after a brief illness. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada he was the son of the late Romeo and Marcelline (Gautreau) Leger. He moved to Lynn as a young boy and attended St. Jeans Schools. He was the owner and operator of the Emery Leger Co. Dustless Floor Sanding“it’s all in the prep” for over 40 years until he retired 5 years ago. He also owned and operated an Antique Shop in Salem. He played the harmonica, in several local bands, playing in many Pubs in the North Shore Area. Emery enjoyed refinishing older furniture, restoring wooden boats and collecting art. He was a wonderful brother to his family and friend to his neighbors. He loved the ocean and messing around in boats.
He is survived by two brothers J. Aurel Leger of Salem, J. Romeo Leger, Jr. of Derryfield, NH, three sisters M. Regina Puglisi of Saugus, M. Juliette and her husband Ernest Bay of Reading, M. Kim Kane of Pocasset, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Paul Jude Leger.
Service Details: Private graveside services will be held at St. Jean Cemetery in Lynn.
