Irving 'Uncle' Permell, age 91, resident of Lynn Massachusetts who worked at General Electric until his retirement, passed away on April 22, 2020.
Irving was born in Trinidad and Tobago on November 12th, 1928 to the late Beatrice Antoine and Lewis Permell. While in Trinidad he worked in the shipyard until he migrated to the United States. He was married to Bernice Kennedy on March 1, 1971 and lived in Lynn Massachusetts until his passing.
Irving is survived by his loving sisters, Janet Antoine, Joyce George and Donna George; his step-son, Heathcliffe Skinner; his nieces & nephews, Annmarie Permell, Sandra Permell, Sharon Pease, Dexter Permell, Vinvin Permell, Charlene John, Stafford Permell, Cathy-Ann Collymore, Karen Brown, Natasha George and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Bernice Permell; his brothers, Roy Permell, Ellis Permell, Frankie Permell, Kenneth Permell and Kenrick Permell; and his nephew, Leon Permell.
Irving was a devoted and loving son, husband, brother and uncle. He enjoyed watching all sports and playing music. He especially loved listening to all steel band music. One of his favorite pastimes was having parties in his basement where all his family and friends would gather for a night to remember.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
In accordance with the CDC's current restrictions on gatherings due to COVID-19, all services will be held privately at Parker Funeral Home.
