Obituary

Irene Mamos, age 101, of Lynnfield, formerly of Lynn died on Monday October 31st after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Mamos with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Annie (Panayotopoulos) Bontos. Irene attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. Class of 1939. She was an active member at St. George Orthodox Church, where she was also a member of the St. George Ladies Society.  She was a self-employed Interior Designer and had many clients in the North Shore Area. Irene enjoyed Sewing, cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son James G. and his wife Karen Mamos of Lynnfield, with who lived, one daughter, Cynthia, one brother and one sister, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Joanne. 

Private funeral services were held at the Parker Funeral Home. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery. Please make memorial contributions in Irene’s name to St George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn or Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan St. Danvers, MA  01923.
