Gail Elaine Trahant peacefully entered into rest, at the age of 81, on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at her home in Lynn. Gail was surrounded and cared for by her family and her love and legacy will continue on within them. She is the beloved wife of William R. Trahant Sr. with whom she shared sixty-three years of marriage. Devoted mother of William R. Trahant Jr, Kathleen and James Eagar, Kimberly Poor, Kerri and Gary Curcio, and Colleen and Kenneth Richards.
Doting grandmother to her 11 grandchildren: Brittany Eagar, Meghan Richards, Brooke and Michael Ternullo, Gabriella Trahant, Kenneth Richards III, Bailey Trahant, Breanna Eagar, Cole Curcio, Cameron Curcio, Clara Poor, and Courtney Curcio. She also adored her granddog/canine companion, Sophie.
Gail was born in Boston to Mildred (Leavitt) and raised by the late Leonard and Mildred (Leavitt) Aylward. She graduated from Lynn English School, Class of 1958. Gail went on to raise her family in Lynn. After raising her family, Gail sought out to help others by becoming a teacher’s aide at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute. She took great pride in helping students of all abilities receive the education they deserved.
Gail enjoyed creating art, playing cards, making beautiful flower arrangements, traveling to places near and far, and had quite the eye for fashion and design. She also loved spending time at her home in Fort Myers, FL with her husband and friends. Above all else, she cherished time with her family most. Including over 50 years worth of summers spent with her family at their lake house in Poland, ME.
As you enter the holiday season, look to decorate extra and give to those less fortunate as a way to honor Gail. She used every holiday, from elaborate Easter baskets to intimate Christmas traditions, as an excuse to celebrate the amazing and close relationships she had with her family.
In lieu of flowers, we wish that you donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to honor her personal compassion of wanting every child to have their dreams come true.
