Edward T Szafranski

Edward T. Szafranski, age 89, of Methuen, formerly of Lynn, died Monday May 1, 2023 at the Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen after a brief illness.  Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Marcele and Cecelia (Wozniak) Szafranski. He attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1953. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received an Associate’s Degree in Electronics from M. I. T. Ed was employed as an engineering assistant at the Mitre Corporation in Bedford for many years until he retired in 1993. Ed was a member of the Eastern Rifle Club and the Italian American Citizens Club in Lynn. He enjoyed camping, country music, bowling and playing cribbage. 

He is survived by two daughters Lyndi and her husband William Savini of Wilmington, Heather and her husband Hector Raymond of Amesbury, one brother Leo S. Szafranski of Englewood, FL, one sister Joan and her husband Joseph Wescott of Lynn, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Please meet at Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn at 10:30 AM for a procession to Pine Grove Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in Ed’s name to the Make – A – Wish foundation.
