Dorothy Loretta (Young) Johnson

Dorothy Loretta (Young) Johnson, age 92, of Nahant passed peacefully Saturday, December 10, 2022 following a brief illness with her loved ones at her side.  She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Johnson Sr. with whom she shared 61 years of marriage and predeceased her in 2009.  Born in Boston in 1930, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Young.  She was raised and educated in Revere before moving to Nahant in 1954.

Dorothy was the loving mother of Evelyn and her husband Frederick Greco of Swampscott, William and his wife Denise of Andover, NH, Thomas F. Johnson Jr., Pamela and her husband Bruce Sarro of Plaistow, NH, Janet Bradley of Nahant, Wayne and his wife Dianne Johnson of Lynn, Dolores and her husband James White of Saugus.  Also Daughters In-law Mary Johnson and Dora Johnson Beals.

Dorothy was a cherished Nana to 21 grandchildren 32 great-grandchildren and always saying “they keep me young”.

Dorothy was the loving sister to Joyce Carey of Revere and late sisters Evelyn Bell, Patricia Sheehan, Paula Holland and Barbara Bevan.  She is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She worked for over 20 years as a telemarketing sales representative for West Lynn Creamery and Garelick Farms retiring in 2003.

She was a member of the Nahant Village Church for many years and especially enjoyed working the Christmas Fairs.

A private burial service was held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nahant.  The service was officiated by Reverend Patricia Long, services arranged by Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St., Lynn.
