Dennis M. Maguire, of Beverly, age 64, died unexpectedly Thursday January 27, at his home. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Lillian F. (Mooney) Maguire. Dennis graduated from Swampscott High School, Class of 1976. He was employed at the General Electric for several years, after the GE he became a self-employed carpenter and worked with his brother, in the North Shore area. He was a skilled carpenter with a heart of gold, who enjoyed working with his hands, especially along with his brother Tom or his nephew Ryan and would eagerly help friends and family with building or repair projects. He was an Irish storyteller who could “talk a dog off a meat truck”. Dennis loved his family first, and then came his love of the outdoors; fishing and boating, the towns and harbors of the North Shore, and kayaking and canoeing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
He is survived by one brother Thomas B. and his wife Lorraine Maguire of Swampscott, and their children Ryan Maguire of Lynn, and Kelsey Maguire of Ohio, one sister Denise K. Maguire and her husband P. Haridas of Hingham, and their children John Matarazzo of Chicago, Christine Elow of Hyde Park, Michael and Karah Matarazzo of Chicago, and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews. Dennis was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
