B E "Bobbie" Shorey

B. E. “Bobbie” Shorey, age 95, of Lynn, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on October 8, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was born Beatrice Elaine on December 2, 1927, in Lynn, Massachusetts to Milton Leforest Shorey and his wife, Bessie Regina (Cook).

Bobbie attended the University of Miami, where she majored in criminal law and served a term as a local councilwoman. After retiring as credit manager from. A.H. Notini’s in Lynn, she relocated to St. Pete, Florida, where she enjoyed spending her time walking the beach, hooking rugs, and researching genealogy. She was a longtime member of the New England Historical Genealogy Society.

She moved back to Massachusetts in 2015 to be closer to her family, particularly her brother, Robert Shorey, whom she adored. She spent five years as a resident at the Lynn Home for the Elderly, to whom her family is incredibly grateful for the love and care they showed in her final years.

Bobbie is pre-deceased by her parents, brother, Robert, and sister-in-law, Myrna Shorey, and her beloved daughter, Kaaren Malgeri.  She is survived by her four children, Kirsten Andreason, Paul and his wife Linda Bucknell, Peter Bucknell, and Anne Padova, in addition to three nephews – Dana, Brian and Jim Shorey - as well as 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Service Details: Bobbie’s visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral will be on Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial of ashes will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Please make memorial donations in Bobbie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
