Obituary

Audrey E. Williams, age 94, of Alton Bay, NH, formerly of Swampscott and Salem, died Tuesday June 20th at the Granite V.N.A. Hospice House in Concord, NH after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert I. Williams. Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Alexander H. and Jane A. (Cant) Glass and the late Lona (Wilder) Glass. Audrey attended Swampscott schools and graduated from Swampscott High School, Class of 1946. She was employed in the insurance business in Boston, before working as an Executive Secretary in the Turbine Dept. Riverworks Plant for over 45 years. She was a charter member of the GE S-Kimos Ski Club organized in Lynn and is now located in Jackson, NH. In 1963 she was the first woman appointed GEEAA Coordinator of the Annual Bowling Tournaments, and one of the founder of the GE Ladies Golf League established in 1962 in Lynn, MA. She was also the Fashion Commentator for the GE Style and Home Show held for many years at Lynn City Hall.

She is survived by her brother Alexander H. Glass, Jr. of Georgetown, her sister Patricia L. Zuchero of Swampscott, sister-in-law Nancy Riordan of Dallas, TX, a stepson Scott I. and his wife Penny Williams of Alton, NH, a step-daughter Barbara W. and her husband Scott Tanguay of Alton, NH, three nephews Steven W. and his wife Eileen Zuchero of Marblehead, Paul S. Zuchero of Swampscott, David S. and his wife Mary (Buffy) of Ft. Myers, FL, two nieces Elisabeth L. Madelly of Georgetown, Jennifer M. Spencer of Georgetown, and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was also the aunt of the late Gina L. Birmingham and Nancy B. Snow.

Service Details: Private grave side services were held Friday June 23rd at Swampscott Cemetery.
