Arcadio “Cayito” Cruz Peralta, age 93, died on Monday August 23rd, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Rosa (Castillo) Cruz with whom he shared 62 years of a loving marriage.
Born in Talara, Peru he was the son of the late Julio and Maria (Peralta) Cruz. Arcadio finished his studies in Peru and started his professional life as a Parachute Technician for the Peruvian Air Force. Later he became a marine vessel welder for Shipyard Industrial Services, also known as SIMA PERU S. A.
He retired as an oil vessel welder for Halliburton Co., and American oil well cementing company located in Peru. At a very young age while living in Peru, he was devoted to the Lord of Miracles, and when he came to the United States of America he continued his devotion by becoming a member of the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles.
His most favorite hobby was preparing and eating Ceviche, a traditional Peruvian dish, and dancing to with his wife and family. At the same time, spending time with his family and attending mass every Sunday. His Mantra was “Que viva la Juventud! “ He would say with such full of energy spirit and a bright smile. He would always have that positive attitude, and happiness to give to everyone crossing his path. He was always devoted to his family, faith and work ethic.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Arcadio Enrique Cruz of Lynn, two daughters Ruth Medalith Garavito of Midland, TX and Celia Manlah of Lynn. Five siblings Alberto Cruz, Jaime Cruz , Maria de Olivos, Estela de Liau, Renee de Albujar all in Perú. Also, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many other close family members and friends, who will miss him deeply. He was also the brother of the late Felix Cruz.
Funeral services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Saturday at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Church in Lynn at 12:30 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Parker Funeral Home.
