Mr. Robert L. Gove, age 93 years, of Salem, NH, formerly of Lynn and Peabody, died Sunday at Greystone Farm, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Rowena (Kenney) Gove with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Elwin L. and Esther L. (Munsey) Gove. Bob attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1941. He enlisted in the US Army and served as a Staff Sergeant during WW II. He was employed at Transitron Electronics in Wakefield from 1953 – 1972, and the as a Purchasing Agent at Dynamics Research Corp. until he retired in 1990. Bob was a member and lay leader of the former Maple St. Methodist Church, a member and Past Master of the former Damascus Masonic Lodge. Bob was a member of Mt. Carmel Masonic Lodge, Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge, Jordan Masonic Lodge in Peabody, a charter member of the North Shore Daylight Lodge in Beverly, a member Scottish Rite Valley of Salem, Massachusetts Consistory and Aleppo Temple in Wilmington. An avid reader Bob also enjoyed woodworking and stained glass.

He is survived by one son Alan R. Gove of Peabody, one daughter Marie L. and her husband Robert Ellis of Sandown, NH, one granddaughter Tina Landry of Shirley, MA, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Service Details: Visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Thursday from 11:00 – 1:00 PM, followed by funeral services at 1:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Please make memorial donations in Bob’s name to Shriners Hospitals for Children 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA 02114.
