Robert A. Deveau, of Lynn age 71 years, died Sunday at the Whidden Hospital in Everett after a lengthy illness. Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Sylvester and Mary (Landry) Deveau. He attended St. Jean’s High School in Lynn. Bob served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He also served in the Army National Guard in the 101st Engineers Division for four years after being discharged from the Navy. He was employed as a Pin Setter Mechanic at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley in Lynn for many years until he retired. He was a member of the Franco American Post 161 and Post 12, the former American Legion Post 6, and a lifetime member if the DAV. He was a Red Sox fan, and enjoyed building doll houses.
He is survived by his sons Robert A. Deveau, Jr. of Newmarket, NH, Charles Vestal of Nashua, NH, Jerry Vestal of Lynn, one daughter Jennifer Deveau of Lynn, his former wife Ellen Simard of Lynn, one brother Carl Deveau of Lynn, one sister Sylvia Galino of Lames, CA, seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service Details: Visiting hours will be held at Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Wednesday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery Thursday at 1:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
