Raymond “Pope” Desruisseaux, age 94 years of Lynn died Saturday Sept. 1, at Union Hospital after being stricken at home. He was the husband of the late Yvette Germain, with whom he shared many years of marriage. Born in St. Marc, Haiti he was the son of the late Victor and Louise (Claude) Desruisseaux. He was educated in Haiti earned a degree in accounting. Ray moved to Boston in 1967, and then to Lynn four years ago. He was employed as an accountant by the City of Boston at Uphams Corner Health Clinic, for many years until he retired. Was a great lover of music and played the saxophone. Raymond spent much of his youth playing soccer and was an avid soccer fan.
Ray was preceded in death by his daughter Louise Michelle Desruisseaux. He is survived by six sons Pressoir and his wife Peggy Desruisseaux of Miami, FL, Raymond Carlos Desruisseaux of Los Angeles, CA, and Miami, FL Patrick Desruisseax of Lynn, Ralph Edouard and his wife Rosslyn Desruisseaux of Lynn, Frederick Exantus of Brooklyn, NY, Jean Marc Desuisseaux of Haiti, two daughters Marie Viola and her husband Fritz Mathis of Lynn, Djina Exantus-Henry and her husband Steffan of Brooklyn, NY, 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Service Details: Visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cremation will follow at Harmony Grove Cemetery.
