Prescott N. Murray

Prescott A. Murray, of Saugus age 85 years, died Tuesday at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Ruth Murray with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Prescott N. and Violet (Whitehurst) Murray, Sr. He attended Saugus Schools and graduated from Saugus High School, Class of 1951. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Prescott was employed as an assembler at the General Electric, Riverworks Plant for many years until he retired in 1998.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp in Ossipee, NH.

He is survived by two sons Scott A. Murray of Peabody, Eric M. Murray of Saugus, two daughters Holly A. Gomez of Bradford, NH, Cindy A. Murray of Saugus one brother Donald and his wife Carol Murray of Lynn, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Service Details: Funeral services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Tuesday at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.
