Mr. Lloyd Arthur Bethune Sr., age 81 years, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Lynn, Ma, passed away Thursday, November 9th at the Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, FL.  Born and raised in Roxbury MA, he was the son of the late Arthur Bethune and Mary (Tilt) Bethune.  Lloyd served 3 years in the US Army as a Paratrooper in the 325th Airborne Regiment, in Fort Bragg, NC.  Lloyd worked for SCM for over 22 years and then he worked for Pinkerton Security.   He was a Deacon for many years at Washington Street Baptist Church and helped teach Sunday School. He was a very avid bowler and enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.  

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Marcia (Kelly) Bethune, and 6 Children, the late Diane and her husband Dean Mivshek of Sarasota, FL and Surviving Children Paul and Karen Bethune of Wakefield, David & Wanda Bethune of Lynn, Stephen Bethune and Lori Williams of Lynn, Lisa and Daniel Marshall of Sarasota, FL and Lloyd Jr & Kristie Bethune of North Port, FL, Also survived by 5 Brothers and 4 Sisters, and the late Arthur Bethune and Dorothy Levreault and many nieces and nephews. He has 24 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and the late grandchildren, Matthew and Brittany.

 

Service Information: Visiting hours are on Monday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn. Burial of ashes will be held on Tuesday 11:00 AM at the Rosedale Cemetery School St. Manchester, MA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society www.cancer.org or Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, FL https://tidewellhospice.org/welcome/donors/donate-now/
