Kenneth E. Anderson, 78 years, of Peabody, died Wednesday at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Arlene M. (Spongberg) Anderson with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Eric M. and Edna (Carlson) Anderson. Ken attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1957. Following High School Ken joined the Army Reserves where he obtained the rank of Sargent. Later in life Ken went back school and received an Associate’s Degree from North Shore Community College.
He was employed as a plumber at the General Electric Riverworks Plant for many years until he retired in 2006. Ken was also a self-employed master plumber and worked the North Shore area.
Ken was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Jordan Lodge in Peabody, Aleppo Temple in Wilmington, and the Danvers Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed target shooting, archery and fishing.
He is survived by two sons Eric K. Anderson of Peabody, Roy A. and his wife Wendy Anderson of Pompano Beach, FL, two daughters Karen E. and her husband Burton Cutler of Gloucester, Sharon E. and husband Jose Sandoval of Portland, OR, one brother Arthur J. Anderson of Hudson, two grandchildren Kayla Anderson of Red Rock AZ, Raiden Anderson of Pompano Beach, FL, one great grandson Skyler of Red Rock, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
Service Details: Funeral services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Tuesday at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Jordan Lodge A. F. & A, M. will hold Masonic Services Monday at 6:30 PM.
