Mr. James L. Geller, age 76 years, of Lynn died unexpectedly Friday evening Nov. 2nd at his home. Born in Detroit he was the son of the late Herman and Evalene (Miller) Geller. He was educated in Detroit, received Bachelor’s Degree from Ferris State College, and a Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He moved to the Lynn area in the early 1970’s and has resided in Lynn ever since. Jim was employed by the City of Beverly as a teacher at the Memorial Middle School, where he taught Social Studies and was a reading specialist. He also taught at the Holy Name Elementary School in West Roxbury. After retirement he worked at the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead. He was and associate member and deacon of the Central Congregational Church in Lynn. He was also a communicant of St, Mary Church in Lynn, and St. Cecelia’s Church in the Back Bay in Boston where he also served as an extraordinary minister of communion. He enjoyed going to the Nahant Senior Citizens.
He is survived by a brother William A. Geller of Sarasota, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also brother of the late Thomas Geller.
Service Details: A memorial service will be held at the Central Congregational Church 97 Broad St. Lynn on Saturday at 10:45 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please make memorial donations in Jim’s name to the Central Congregational Church or a charity of you choice. Interment of Ashes will be held at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Detroit.
