Hosea Robertson

Mr. Hosea Robertson, age 88, of Lynn died Tuesday April 16th at Salem Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Bernice (Williams) Robertson with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Grosse Tete, Louisiana he was the son of the late Bill and Nellie (Willis) Robertson. He was educated in Louisiana. Hosea served in the U. S. Navy for 21 years and retired with the rank of Chief Boatswain’s Mate. After serving with the navy he was employed at the former Dayno Industries in Lynn for over 20 years until he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Bethel AME Church in Lynn, where he taught adult church school, the Community Brotherhood in Lynn, and the DAV. A quiet gentle man he enjoyed reading the bible, walking and playing cards.  He especially loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters Marchia and her husband Roy Rhodes of Lynn, Teresa “Rita” Robertson  of Corona, CA, He was also the father of the late Patricia Robertson of Mesa AZ. Brothers and sisters, AB Robertson of Illinois, WI, Albert and his wife Ida Willis of Barton Rouge, LA,  JD Robertson of  Grosse Tete, LA,  Nellie Boyd of  Saint Louis, MO, Orabell Johnson of  Grosse Tete, LA, seven grandchildren, RJ Rhodes of Lexington KY, Raei-Leigh Rhodes of Roswell GA, Anthony Green, II of Corona CA, Tahsheena Green of Lynn, William Lott, III, Cynthia and her husband David Garcia and Sara Robertson all of AZ seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Service Details: Funeral services will be held at the Bethel AME Church 72 Silsbee St. Lynn on Friday at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are from 4:00 – 7:00 Pm Thursday at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn. Please make memorial donations in Hosea’s name to the Bethel AME Church.
