Donald J. Richard

Donald J. Richard, age 82 years of Lynn, is survived by his wife Phyllis “Ruthie” (Hemeon) Richard of 28 years.  Donald was pre-deceased by his wife Nancy C. (Fall) Richard of 31 years in 1987.

 Donald is also survived by his two children, son Keith M. Richard of Melrose MA., daughter and Paige A. (Richard) Basar and son-in-law John R. Basar of San Diego CA, along with his two remaining sisters Delores Morgani and Alana Payson of Salem MA. He is also pre-decease by his sister Joan Chenery of Peabody MA.

Donald is also survived by his two step daughters and their families, Shirley Eaton and her companion Michael Davis of Reading MA and her two children. Phyllis Lozzi and her husband Vincent Lozzi of Lynn MA and their four children, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

Donald, has been retired from both General Electric and the city of Salem for many years and recently retired from the JCC in Marblehead..  Donald loved music and was a member of the Northshoremen Barbershop chorus in Beverly for several years.  He and his recently pre-deceased best friend of over 65 years and “partner in crime”, Richard “Dicky” Jolly had been best friends since high school and attended every Salem / Beverly, high school, Thanksgiving Day football game together since their graduation.  True blue Salem fans and friends to the end.

His favorite past-times were boating, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Don was a true character and full of spirit to the end and loved by all who knew him.

Service Details: Memorial visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Don’s ashes will be interred in Pine Grove Cemetery.
