Dawn M. (Ostrander) Kenney

Dawn M. Kenney, age 53 years, of Lynn, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday March 16th. She was the wife of Alan W. Kenney, with whom she shared 30 + years of marriage. Born in Weymouth at South Shore Hospital she was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Sheffield) Ostrander formerly residing in Hanson before retiring to Raynham.  She graduated from Whitman Hanson High School, Class of 1983, and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater State University, Class of 1987. Dawn lived in Raynham and Quincy before moving to Lynn in 2012. She was employed as an assistant office manager at North Short Treatment Options in Peabody, and before that with her sister-in-law Dez Kenney of Salem and Lynn opening a practice across from Salem Hospital as Kenney Associates in 2010, specializing in addiction treatment and psychiatry.

Dawn was an avid New England Patriots fan and was able to attend two Superbowls. She was a past member of many competitive paintball teams throughout the state, including traveling with the all-girls semi pro team out of Texas, the Iron Maidens, who were sponsored and traveled throughout the states and Canada winning many Titles and Trophy’s.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons Alex Kenney of Weymouth, Adam Kenney of Lynn two brothers Mark Ostrander of PA, Daryl Ostrander of Halifax, one sister Colleen and her husband Russell Dwyer of Raynham, her mother-in-law Linda Peluso of Lynn, and many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Gary Ostrander.

Service Details: Visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please make memorial donations in her Dawn’s to the Northeast Animal Shelter 347 Highland Ave. Salem, MA 01970.
