Edna Priscilla Coakley, age 80, of Lynn, died Friday November 24th at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Edward James Coakley with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland she was the daughter of the late Peter and Priscilla (Forbes) Sangster. Edna was educated and graduated High School in Aberdeen, Scotland. She moved to Lynn in the 1960’s and has lived in the Lynn area ever since. She was employed as an Office Manager at Interstate Distributors for many years until she retired in 2002. Edna enjoyed playing Bingo at St. Mary’s Church, crossword puzzles, gardening, antiquing and gardening. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons Peter Coakley, Mark Coakley both of Lynn, one brother Ian Sangster of Scotland, three sisters Dorothy McConnachie, Janette Green, Rona Jacobsen all of Scotland one niece Janice Sangster of Scotland, two Close friends Ellen Vaccaro of Salem, Dianne Butler of Nahant and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service Details: Edna’s visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 – 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 P M to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial of ashes will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery Nahant.
