Mary E. (Kiernan) Carroll

Mary E. Carroll, age 80 years, of Saugus, formerly of Peabody and Lynn died Tuesday at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Thomas M. “Moe” Carroll, Jr. with whom she shared 56 years of Marriage.

            Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late James and Marguerite (Ryan) Kiernan. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1954. She was employed as a Clerk in the Workman’s Comp Department at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for over 40 years until she retired. She enjoyed walking, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, playing cards and Beano at the Saugus Commons Activity Center.

She is survived by one son David M. Carroll of Saugus, five cousins James Ryan of North Chatham, NH, Janice Torris of Somerville, Rose Raye of Marblehead, Theresa Simard of Billerica, Patsy McCarthy of Melrose, and many other relatives and friends.

Service Details: Mary’s funeral will be from the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Friday at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
