Arlene P (Johnson) Langan

Mrs. Arlene P. Langan, age 71 years, of Lynnfield, died Sunday at her home after a lengthy illness, with her family at her side. She was the wife of Robert E. Langan, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage.

            Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. and Alice J. (Humphries) Johnson. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1962. She received an Associate’s Degree from Burdett Business, Class of 1964. Arlene owned and operated the Silver Acres Antique Shop in Essex, for several years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and a former member of the Penguin Ski Club in Bartlett, NH. She was a liberal giver to several charities and a very generous person. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed skiing, swimming and ice skating. Arlene loved being a home maker and took great pride in her home, braiding her own rugs, and making a lot of her own home crafts.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one brother Brad and his wife Betty Johnson of Newbury, and many nieces and nephews.

Service Information: Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church, 280 Broadway Lynn on Thursday at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
